HVAC Specialist Job Description

As a skilled and dedicated HVAC specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: Install, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, heat pumps, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of parts, including compressors, evaporators, thermostats, and motors.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Measure and monitor system performance using diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges, thermometers, and voltmeters.
  • Refrigerant Recharge: Recharge refrigerant in HVAC and refrigeration systems in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to HVAC systems, including wiring, fuses, and control boards.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to local building codes, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, explaining problems and solutions clearly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of service work, parts replaced, and any customer interactions in company software systems.
  • Professional Development: Stay up to date with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in HVAC and refrigeration.
