Job Description

As a Yard Labourer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of our yard, supporting various aspects of girder production, and ensuring a safe working environment. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of handling various tasks related to yard operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Material Handling: Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment components using forklifts and other equipment.
  2. Yard Maintenance: Keep the yard area clean, organized, and free of debris. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  3. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products. Report any discrepancies or shortages.
  4. Assist in Production: Support production activities by transporting materials, tools, and equipment as needed. Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals.
  5. Equipment Operation: Operate machinery, such as forklifts and skid steers, in a safe and responsible manner. Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  6. Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment. Report any safety concerns promptly.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including welders and fabricators, to facilitate seamless workflow and meet project deadlines.
  8. General Labour: Perform general labour tasks as assigned, including but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, and assisting in the setup of work areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  2. Safety Certifications: Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely.
  3. Physical Fitness: Physical fitness and stamina to handle manual labor tasks in an outdoor environment.
  4. Inventory Management: Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
  5. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  6. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  7. Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
