Clinical Support Position

This is a casual opportunity to support students and UQ clinical staff at the School of Dentistry's student-led Dental Clinic.

As a Casual Clinical Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting clinical operations to ensure a smooth, effective teaching and treatment environment.
  • Set up, clean, sterilise, and store dental instruments and equipment in line with infection control standards.
  • Maintain accurate clinic records and uphold professional presentation standards.
  • Book, receive and prepare patients for treatment under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator.

We welcome applications from individuals who hold a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or equivalent Dental Assisting Qualification) and have hands-on experience as a chairside Dental Assistant. A Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Radiography stream) would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in instrument handling, sterilisation, and patient preparation, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will also demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning new skills, techniques, and technologies in a dynamic clinical environment.

The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks prior to commencement.
