Lead Mechanical Engineer Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our mechanical engineering discipline team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the mechanical discipline, overseeing and executing high-level technical investigations, designs, and governance related to water and wastewater infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical engineering and the development and ongoing review of technical and infrastructure governance. They will also have detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering procedures and practices as applied in the water industry and large engineering organisations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical leadership in the mechanical discipline, overseeing and executing high-level technical investigations, designs, and governance related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
  2. Act as a trusted Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in mechanical engineering, guiding design processes and ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.
  3. Develop and maintain technical governance frameworks to ensure continuous improvement in mechanical engineering across the organisation.
  4. Contribute to projects and shape technical governance frameworks to ensure delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions.
  5. Provide clear, timely and accurate communication with stakeholders, delivering solutions that meet business priorities and exceed customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualifications in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering and the development and ongoing review of technical and infrastructure governance.
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering procedures and practices as applied in the water industry and large engineering organisations.
  • Recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia is essential.
