Analytical Chemist and Quality Officer

We are seeking an experienced APS 4 Analytical Chemist and Quality Officer to join our team at a federal government agency. As a key member of our laboratory, you will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of quality systems in compliance with ISO 17034 standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and troubleshoot a variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC-FID, and Karl Fischer moisture analysis.
- Perform data analysis and reporting, including updating certificates of analysis using Excel and Word.
- Maintain and improve quality systems consistent with ISO 17034, with tasks such as updating SOPs, method manuals, and preparing for external audits.
- Respond to quality non-conformances by managing investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent (ideally in organic chemistry).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17034 or ISO 17025 will be highly valued.
- Previous experience working and/or maintaining certification in a NATA accredited laboratory will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- High level of internal and external stakeholder interaction skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience in Excel and statistical calculations.
