The role of a Demand Planner involves utilizing forecasting techniques and strategies to optimize product availability, minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for demand forecasting. Analyzing historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and other demand drivers is crucial in generating accurate demand forecasts and identifying demand patterns.
Monitoring and evaluating demand forecasts against actual sales performance is essential to ensure optimum inventory levels and customer satisfaction. Regular demand planning meetings with key stakeholders are necessary to align on forecasts, address potential issues, and drive consensus.
The successful Demand Planner will generate reports and provide insights to management, highlighting key demand metrics, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
In terms of qualifications, a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Proven experience as a Demand Planner or in a similar role within the FMCG industry or related industry is also essential.
Strong analytical skills, proficiency in demand planning software and tools, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and strong problem-solving skills are all necessary attributes for success in this role. The ability to make data-driven decisions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is also critical.
