Exciting Opportunity for Marine Technicians/Fitters

Ventia, in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, is seeking skilled Marine Technicians/Fitters to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Moorebank NSW.

About the Role

As a Marine Technician/Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance on specialist Defence equipment, including installation, inspection, repairs, modification, and reconditioning of military armaments, watercraft, small engines, and performing general engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine detailed specifications to determine requirements of the job
  • Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools
  • Check quality of finished parts
  • Fit and assemble parts
  • Provide technical advice to equipment operators
  • Conduct relevant data entry tasks
  • Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, general service, and marine equipment
Requirements
  • Trade qualified in Marine Mechanical Technology (Certificate III) or Fitter and Turner (Certificate III)
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence
  • Small engines qualification or experience (desired)
  • Experience operating lathes, millers, and other metal working machines
