Advanced Practice Nurse Role

Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join their team in Broome, Western Australia.


The role involves leading advanced clinical care services within the primary healthcare clinic and collaborating across departments and multidisciplinary teams.


This newly created position reports to the Senior Medical Officer and requires a strong clinical background, leadership skills, and experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing culturally safe and responsive primary health care aligned with the BRAMS Model of Care
  • Conducting patient assessments, diagnoses, and clinical decision-making
  • Prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic investigations
  • Managing recalls and follow-up care processes

Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Demonstrated experience in a primary healthcare setting
  • Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (desired)
  • Clinical expertise in triage, treatment, and ongoing care management
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Cultural humility and a willingness to learn in an Aboriginal health context
