Drill and Blast Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team at the Dugald River Mine, one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations. As a key member of our Mining team, you will be responsible for completing drill and blast design, quality assurance/quality control (QAQC), reconciliations, and general mining engineering support.


The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in drilling and blasting principles, metalliferous mining, and mine scheduling. They must have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a cost-effective culture among team members.
  • Timely delivery of plans for customers, including reporting and document control.
  • Consistently apply workplace management procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, agreed visions, and values.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with company vision and values and code of conduct.
  • Contribute towards a strong team working culture within the Technical services team.
  • Continually seek to improve existing workplace practices.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experience.
  • Technical experience in mine scheduling and planning, as well as practical underground experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential).
  • Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) (Essential).
