About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller/Accountant to join our management team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving our financial performance and contributing to our overall success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly cash flow analysis and reports to ensure accurate financial forecasting and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement annual budgets and rolling forecasts to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Manage all financial and administration operations, including bank, receivables, payables, and payroll, to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
  • Control, implement, maintain, and review the standard costing environment to optimize financial performance.
  • Analyze variances in manufacturing, material, labor, and warehouse and OPEX to identify areas for improvement and drive cost savings.
  • Build financial budgets for each financial year to ensure accurate financial planning and forecasting.
  • Prepare payroll, complete all monthly and annual returns for PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports to inform business decisions and drive sustainability and expansion.
  • Prepare and manage the financial reporting cycle, including statutory accounts, regulatory reports, and taxation reports, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Advise on investment strategies, opportunities, sources of funds, and restructuring proposals to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Manage the treasury function, including cash management, monitor financial exchange risk, and assess the impact on business profitability.
About You
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and the ability to make quick, informed decisions and effectively manage financial and commercial risk.
  • Possess a commercial mindset suitable for a small to medium enterprise (SME) environment.
  • Be a confident individual who can deliver on responsibilities accurately, on-time, and independently, without requiring constant oversight.
  • Embracing the ethos of admitting mistakes, seeking mentorship, and being teachable is essential for success in this role.
  • A tertiary qualification/degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-years' experience post-grad experience in accounting or financial controlling.
  • Ability to influence business decisions through financial analysis, IT systems management, and marketing.
  • A sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, with advanced level in Excel.
  • High levels of attention to detail, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Ability to drive organization change initiatives.
  • Previous experience with Dynamics Business Central and 365 will be highly regarded, however not essential.
  • CA or CPA qualifications are highly desirable, however not essential (those progressing towards CA/CPA will be considered).
