Job Overview

In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in shaping Australia's defence capability by designing, building and integrating cutting-edge technologies. As a Software Integration Engineer, you will be an integral member of a highly skilled team working on the AIR6500 program to deliver complex solutions that form the backbone of Australia's multi-domain defence capability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers across the AIR6500 program to design, test and integrate advanced systems.
  • Contribute to automating testing and continuous integration pipelines using your expertise in software engineering.
  • Analyse and resolve system-level defects to ensure integration environments remain mission-ready at all times.
  • Work hands-on with state-of-the-art tech: CI/CD, virtualisation, containerisation, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree is essential for this position.
  • You must possess strong Defence Test & Evaluation knowledge and hands-on integration experience across ICT, software and hardware.
  • Linux administration and scripting skills are required, as well as experience with CI/CD pipelines and a problem-solving mindset to tackle complex system challenges.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Defence Test & Evaluation experience is required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on integration experience across ICT, software and hardware is required.
  • Intermediate level Linux administration skills are mandatory.
