At CatholicCare Sydney, we are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of victims-survivors of Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) in Southwest Sydney.

About the Supporting Recovery Program

The Supporting Recovery program is a collaborative initiative between CatholicCare Sydney and Anglicare, providing trauma-informed mental health care to those affected by FDSV. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering psychological therapies and social interventions to support individuals on their recovery journey.

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Your expertise will be utilized to coordinate care with other services, facilitate referrals, and engage with the community to raise awareness about FDSV.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed mental health services for up to 2 years to victim-survivors of FDSV
  • Deliver psychological therapies and social interventions tailored to individual needs
  • Coordinate care with other services and facilitate referrals as necessary
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness about FDSV and promote support services
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, nursing, or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with FDSV, preferably in a mental health setting
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., ACA, PACFA, APHRA, AASW)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse clients and stakeholders
