About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Logistics Supervisor to join our team at The University of Queensland. As a key member of our Campus Operations team, you will be responsible for developing and managing logistic processes to ensure they are optimized and support UQ strategies in relation to the supply and distribution of goods across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with University Schools representatives to ensure efficient warehousing and mail functions across the University.
  • Formulate and manage Service Level Agreements with departments.
  • Manage associated budgets, contracts, and resources of the section, including reporting and value management.
  • Develop procedures relating to operation and utilization of UQ warehouses, supporting business continuity risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate systems to manage inventories and assets stored within warehouses.
  • Monitor and review work practices and procedures, identifying and introducing improvements.
  • Assist with the development of logistics section budgets and monitor financial statements.
  • Provide advice to the Director, Campus Operations, on emerging trends, threats, or opportunities that may impact logistics.
  • Provide broad direction to Supervisors, team leaders, and service providers in the day-to-day operations for Gatton Warehouse, St Lucia Warehouse, and Mail Rooms.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Operations and Logistics Supervisor who can demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, and the expertise to effectively communicate, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Previous experience leading and motivating a team of professional staff to deliver routine services at consistently high levels, and identifying and implementing improvement opportunities as they arise, is essential.

Competent in a range of computer software and mobile applications, you will be able to oversee logistics operations, manage budgets, and ensure efficient resource allocation.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including a right to work in Australia check, criminal check, etc.
