We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Naval Pipework Fabricator to join our team on Garden Island.

About Your Role

This role is critical to the success of our naval ship repair business, which includes both defence and civilian vessels. As a Naval Pipework Fabricator, you will be responsible for the manufacture and installation of pipework in support of ship repair.

  • You will work across a variety of environments, including workshops, naval vessels, and buildings, using ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Operation of workshop machinery and equipment, such as hydraulic benders and threading machines, is essential.
  • Assisting with developing the skills of apprentices is also a key aspect of this role.
  • You will work in a team environment that encourages new ideas and improvements.
What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Cert III Plumbing qualification, which is essential.
  • Experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with a Cert III Welding/Fabrication qualification being advantageous.
  • Forklift, Dogman, working at heights, and confined spaces tickets would be highly regarded.
  • Safety-conscious individuals with sound problem-solving skills are preferred.
  • Experience in ship repair or heavy industry is highly regarded.
Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You will receive a Defence security clearance, which requires Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

Prior to offer, you will complete a pre-employment police and medical check.
