Support Role in Primary Education

We are seeking compassionate and proactive individuals to work in mainstream primary schools supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups with children across Reception to Year 6, helping them access learning and develop socially and emotionally within the classroom environment.

About the role:

  • Supporting pupils with mild to moderate SEN within a mainstream classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support plans
  • Providing tailored literacy and numeracy support through intervention groups
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent and nurturing approaches
  • Helping children develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs
  • Occasional support with personal care, where required
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and parents

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching Assistant duties in a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Collaboration with teachers and other professionals to deliver individualized support plans
  • Assisting with personalized learning programs for students with diverse needs

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS Child workforce - Must be on the update service
  • 2x References are required to clear your file
  • Teaching Assistant – Level 2 Qualification or similar
