About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Shovel Operator to join our Production Mining Team. This is a permanent full-time position with opportunities for development and upskilling.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a mining production excavator operator, with expertise in operating Hitachi EX3600 and CAT6060 machines. They will also have experience loading dump trucks in a mining production environment.

Key responsibilities include operating machinery efficiently and safely, complying with company policies and procedures, and responding to instructions from the Mining Supervisor.

In this role, you will be responsible for excavating to design boundaries of ore bodies, berms, and pit walls, ensuring floor levels are maintained, minimizing dilution, and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances.

You will also be expected to set and maintain high housekeeping standards and carry out pre-start checks.

What You Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a mining production excavator operator
  • Experience operating Hitachi EX3600 and CAT6060 machines
  • Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production environment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration
  • Skills to mine out benches and cutting batters, leaving minimal amount of material for final trim to design of batter angle
