As a Radiographer, you will be responsible for performing imaging examinations using ionising radiations. Your role is to assess medical requests and ensure patient welfare and standard of care.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellence in healthcare.

  • Performing basic imaging examinations to produce images of the highest diagnostic value possible whilst using ionising radiations, both in general and fluoroscopic radiography.
  • Assessing medical requests, patient status and capabilities, ensuring procedure preparation is adequate and in accordance with correct protocol.

You will use imaging equipment and associated accessories safely, ensuring patient welfare and standard of care received. You must also avoid causing hazards to self, other staff, patients and equipment.

Quality of images is crucial, so you will assess and monitor image quality to ensure appropriate standards are maintained. Image demographics and labelling should be accurate and correct, and image archiving should be completed as required.

The Department oversees various hospitals across the state, including several district hospitals and ambulance services. We provide community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services through over 300 sites.
