Job Description:- Role Overview: The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to young people in custody. This role involves conducting health assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to promote healthy behaviors.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Health Assessments: Conduct thorough health assessments on young people in custody, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering laboratory tests as necessary.
- Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each young person, including those with complex health issues or comorbidities.
- Education and Support: Provide education and support to promote healthy behaviors, such as healthy eating, exercise, and substance abuse prevention.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and social workers to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication with families and carers.
- Qualifications: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and a minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong assessment and planning skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
