Teaching Position: Environmental Educator

We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to join our team as an Environmental Educator. This role combines science and outdoor learning, guiding students through inquiry-based lessons while incorporating sustainability into garden programs.

This position offers a unique opportunity to connect learning with the real world, inspiring curiosity and nurturing environmentally aware thinkers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons that spark curiosity in students.
  • Guide students to plant, harvest, and care for the earth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate sustainability concepts across the curriculum.
  • Care for and maintain the productive school garden alongside students, developing practical skills and environmental responsibility.
  • Celebrate student learning by connecting science and gardening to real-world problem-solving and community projects.

Requirements:

  • Possesses a passion for inspiring young learners through science, sustainability, and hands-on experiences.
  • Holds strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum, with the ability to design engaging, inquiry-based lessons.
  • Has practical gardening skills and enthusiasm for embedding sustainability into everyday learning.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Exhibits flexibility, creativity, and initiative to foster curiosity and ecological responsibility.

A valid teaching registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
