About The Role

We are seeking experienced support workers to join our team as disability support workers.

As a support worker, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, and empowering participants to achieve their goals.

The role involves working with participants who have both low and complex needs. Some may require assistance with medication prompts, while others may display complex behaviours.

You will be required to have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, as this is an in-home care role. Shifts will vary from 2 hours to 8 hours per day, Monday to Sunday.

Main Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building - build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends.
  • Liaising With Families And Friends - assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals and ambitions.
  • Supporting Participant Skills - increase participant skills through active support and promote independence.
  • Providing Quality Support - provide quality and professional support in line with participants' plans, needs, and wants.

Requirements

  • Experience - 1 year of home care experience (preferred)
  • Certification - Valid Working with Children Check (preferred), First Aid Certification (preferred)
