Job Description

Supporting young individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities is a rewarding experience. As a casual youth disability support worker, you will be part of our team providing in-home support services.

Our ideal candidate must have experience working with challenging behaviours, Downs Syndrome, and non-verbal participants. Strong communication and computer skills are also essential for this role. Additionally, manual handling experience, medication administering experience, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.

  • Provide in-home support to a young participant with physical and intellectual disabilities.
  • Understand and provide appropriate care to the participant with high needs who demonstrate challenging behaviours.
  • Assist with activities relating to personal care, transportation, daily living (cooking/cleaning), community support, and recreational activities.
  • Administer or prompt to administer medications as outlined in the participant's Medication Management Plan.
  • Implement a participant's individual Behaviour Support Plan into their support service and complete reporting on behavioural incidences.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 100 points of ID.
  • Un-restricted Australian Drivers License.
  • A current certificate to provide First-Aid.
  • A current certificate to provide CPR.
  • National Standard Police Clearance Check.
  • A current Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC).
  • NDIS New Worker Orientation Module Certifications.
  • Minimum 12 months+ experience in supporting youth living with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • A completed Certificate III/IV in Disabilities.
