Experienced Journalist Wanted

">About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated journalist to join our news team in Albury. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on a wide range of topics including environment, sport, politics, and more.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, where you will be responsible for researching, compiling, and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday bulletins. You will work closely with editors and camera operators to ensure our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university qualification in journalism with at least one year's experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings-winning bulletin
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international news stories affecting the community
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management
  • Capacity to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to working relationships
  • Ability to identify story opportunities, and operate with initiative and flexibility
  • Positive work ethic, and the ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes
