Key Role in Bloodstock News Team

This position involves producing high-quality news stories and features for the daily newsletter, focusing on major sales across Australasia, attending race meetings, and visiting stud farms. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on key events in the racing and bloodstock calendar, sourcing engaging content, and collaborating with the team to deliver excellent editorial products.

  • Develop and write compelling bloodstock news, racing stories, and features that meet tight deadlines
  • Work closely with the bloodstock international editor to plan and execute editorial content
  • Attend major sales and events in Australasia as required
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the bloodstock market and industry trends
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals
  • Manage social media duties, including posting editorial content and breaking news
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements

Excellent knowledge and passion for Australasian bloodstock and horse racing
Sales reporting experience
Strong network within the racing and bloodstock industry
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
High standard of written English and communication skills
Strong planning and organizational abilities
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
