Our technology stack includes NodeJS and Nest applications hosted on Heroku, with a focus on designing and implementing APIs, managing databases, debugging code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role is part of a high-performing team that delivers new features and maintains high-quality code. As a Backend Developer Lead, you will:

  • Design and implement backend solutions aligned with product requirements, working closely with other developers.
  • Collaborate with the development team to deliver new features and maintain high-quality code.
  • Review code, mentor and coach other team members, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Manage product releases, provide production support, and triage incidents.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong experience with Node.js (in particular NestJS)
  • Proficient in database design and management
  • Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps and Ansible
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, API Gateway and Amazon MQ
  • Skilled in backend architecture, microservices, and API design
  • Able to assess and prioritise change requests, manage incidents, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Experienced in writing clear technical documentation and collaborating on scalable system designs
