This is a critical position within AEMO's System Design Division, responsible for ensuring the delivery of planning and environmental approvals for the Western Renewables Link (WRL) Project. The successful candidate will provide governance over the project's planning and environmental activities, ensuring compliance with industry best-practice and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate proposed planning and environment approval activities against project delivery plans to identify and mitigate schedule risks.
- Provide oversight over the delivery of planning and environmental approvals, ensuring environmental impacts are minimized.
- Work with the project team to identify and communicate risks associated with planning and environmental approvals.
- Coordinate activities with other WRL streams to meet quality, cost, and time requirements.
- Support the facilitation of multi-organisational working groups to ensure inputs from relevant organisations are reflected in planning and environment plans.
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning or environmental science.
- Sound knowledge of statutory planning assessments and legislation as they relate to major linear infrastructure projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and complex problem-solving capabilities.
