About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at AB Volvo. This role is a full-time, month-to-month temporary position.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with multiple systems and design tools, and who are open-minded to exploring all domains of heavy truck vehicles. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including recent university graduates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems/installations for heavy trucks for Volvo and Mack brands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
  • Utilize 3D CAD for packaging, routing and modelling of wiring and components.
  • Work with wiring harnesses and other electrical design tools.
  • Participate in the complete life cycle of product development, from concept to production.
  • Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate meetings outside of normal office hours, ensuring a balanced work-life approach.
Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • Contribute to, or drive cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders.
  • Working with wiring harnesses components and design tools (Volvo uses Saber).
  • Understanding and drawing of electrical schematics (Volvo uses Saber).
  • Exposure to 3D CAD tools like Creo, Catia, or NX (Volvo uses Creo).
  • Design for six sigma principles.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 including Teams.
  • Familiarity with the complete product life cycle and associated processes.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varying work schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Communication and teamwork abilities.
