Business Operations and Risk Management Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and iconic Telco organization undergoing significant transformation initiatives. The company offers a fun and empowering company culture, with a hybrid work arrangement that includes flexibility and work-from-home options.
We are seeking a Business Operations and Risk Partner to join our team on a 12-month contract. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the right risk management and controls are in place.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Risk and Compliance: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of risk management and controls.
- 50% of the role will focus on Risk and Compliance, while the other 50% will involve engaging with Business Operations and Governance Teams.
- Quarterly business performance and planning cycles: Assess resource requirements for initiatives and projects, and provide project management and coordination support.
- Executive governance: Prepare a unified narrative for operations teams, including executive governance, operational profile, and compliance.
- Line 1 Risk role: Ensure operational-level risk and controls are in place, and manage related issues.
- Risk and Resilience Framework: Implement, maintain, and mature the risk and resilience framework in alignment with policies and procedures.
- Risk Assessments and Reporting: Facilitate regular risk assessments and reporting, ensuring timely identification, mitigation, and escalation of risks.
- Resilience Plans and Activities: Coordinate the development and testing of resilience plans and activities, such as business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders on risk and resilience matters, and communicate and educate business unit staff on risk and resilience best practices and expectations.
- Operational Risk and Compliance Experience (Essential)
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining risk and resilience frameworks for large-scale organizations (Essential)
- Proven experience in business operations and risk management, preferably in a financial services or highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with risk frameworks, methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management (ideal)
- Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, standards, and policies affecting the business
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in business operations and risk management
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, assess, monitor, and report on risks and issues
- Professional certification in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or related field (CRMA, CISA, CIA, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
