Role Summary

We are seeking a professional to lead our kitchen team and oversee food preparation for residents.

The successful candidate will have experience in commercial cookery and be able to manage a team effectively.

As a senior chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals that meet residents' preferences and needs.

You will work closely with the lifestyle team to plan activities and events and ensure that all dietary requirements are met.

Additionally, you will oversee food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation processes safely and correctly.

Implement infection control principles as per policies and maintain accurate records of food preparation and service.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience in Aged Care, Hotel, or Restaurant settings preferred.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and budget management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.

Skills and Experience
  1. Manage food preparation, including managing staff, food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation processes safely and correctly.
  2. Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to plan and cater activities and events.
  3. Ensure meals are prepared fresh daily using seasonal produce and implement infection control principles as per policies.
  4. Complete paperwork accurately and promptly per duty list and quality assurance processes.
