About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual who will collaborate with experienced professionals and rotate through our corporate offices, bauxite mines, and alumina refineries in the Peel and Upper Southwest regions. You will gain valuable hands-on site experience while maintaining a perfect work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn the intricacies of the Bayer process, one of the industry's most complicated chemical processes.
  • Be mentored by industry experts as you have access to our global technical centre of excellence based on site.
  • Develop and implement chemical methods and instrumental analytical techniques.
  • Take an active role in laboratory safety management.
  • Work collaboratively on laboratory and refinery based investigative and improvement projects.
  • Utilise your understanding of chemical processes to identify process improvement opportunities.
Development and Mentoring

You will be provided with coaching, mentoring, hands-on and professional training. You will also have diverse experiences, from working in our corporate offices, to a local on-site environment within our mine sites, powerhouses and alumina refineries. An increasing level of responsibility will be assigned to you, allowing you to use your innovative thinking, motivation to learn and passion for growth to shape the future of our business.

About You

To succeed in this role, you must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously. You should use initiative and take ownership of your work. Strong communication and well-developed people skills are essential. Analytical thinking and a creative and collaborative approach to problem solving are also required. The ability to engage with and understand customers is key to driving positive outcomes.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Recent completion of a graduate program or currently on the path to graduation.
Selection Process

  • Finish psychometric testing (1hr).
  • Attend Assessment Centre (case study, team activity, interview) or Panel Interview.
  • Reference check.
  • Pre-employment medical.
