Job Summary
As a skilled Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the healthcare team at our Toowoomba location. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team, bringing expertise in advanced practice nursing and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive hourly rate of $45-$65. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing autonomous expert care to patients and families, working collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, and allied health colleagues to deliver quality healthcare services. You will maintain competence to practice in accordance with national competency standards and provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced and autonomous expert care to patients and families in accordance with Nurse Practitioner legislation and functions.
  • Maintain competence to practice in accordance with national competency standards for the Nurse Practitioner as directed by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Work collaboratively to support pharmacist, nursing, and allied health colleagues in the performance of their clinical role.
  • Escalate care to general practitioners where indicated and refer for specialist care when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have strong administrative experience (minimum 2 years) and post-graduate qualifications in wound and stoma care, diabetes, or related community qualifications. You will also be willing to obtain a Medicare Provider Number to treat Medicare patients. Additionally, you must have knowledge of MBS Items for Nurse Practitioners and the ability to create clinical procedures and update them in accordance with legislative standards and accreditation requirements.
