Position Overview:

We are in search of a qualified Heavy-Duty Mechanic to conduct maintenance and repairs on various heavy machinery, including trucks, mobile plant equipment, and light vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a robust mechanical skill set, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to ensuring optimal equipment functionality.

Equipment Involved:

  • Kenworth and Mack Trucks
  • Diverse Mobile Plant Machinery
  • Light Vehicles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on trucks and mobile plant machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and avert equipment failures.
  • Disassemble and reassemble components of heavy machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to efficiently assess and repair equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete intricate repair tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License (HR preferred)
  • National Police Clearance (validity dependent on site)
  • Recognized Trade Certificate in Australia
  • High-Risk Forklift License (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic with trucks and mobile plant.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Able to interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety standards.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave, personal leave eligibility, a site bonus, superannuation on all hours worked, and health insurance discounts. Full personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including uniforms and safety gear.
