At Pitcher Partners, we're looking for a skilled Financial Auditor to join our team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base in the middle market, including listed entities and large proprietary companies.

About the Role

This full-time position will primarily provide accurate and timely audit services to our clients and assistance to the Audit and Assurance team. As a Financial Auditor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to high-level work for review from a diverse client base;
  • Displaying appropriate knowledge and understanding of client business to assist in developing an audit approach;
  • Reading, understanding, and following audit planning memos and audit programs;
  • Being involved in the planning phase of audits and developing audit plans as required;
  • Undertaking field work for financial and compliance audits, including interim and final testing;
  • Preparing work papers in accordance with our audit methodology and preparing clear and concise reports;
  • Fully utilizing Audit software program Caseware and advising junior staff on usage;
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and basic tax computations;
  • Applying computer simulations and computer-assisted techniques in performing audit engagements;
  • Drafting technical memos for manager and partner review;
  • Providing feedback to staff on a regular basis during and at completion of assignments;
  • Liaising with managers to ensure jobs are reviewed and completed on time;
  • Assisting with non-audit engagements, including due diligence, other advisory services, and litigation support;
  • Supervising junior personnel;
About You

We're looking for a qualified CA/CPA or equivalent with minimum 3 years of audit experience, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm. You should have a thorough working knowledge of accounting standards and a detailed understanding of the audit process and audit risk assessment.

  • You must have proven ability to prepare work paper files in accordance with our firm and divisional standards and train junior staff in this regard;
  • Recent experience in an Australian firm with listed companies is highly desirable;
