Nuclear Integration Specialist

We are seeking a Nuclear Integration Specialist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and secure integration of nuclear safety, security, and safeguards into the design, construction, and operation of submarine-supporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expert Support: Provide expert support during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Assurance and Compliance: Contribute to assurance and compliance activities, including licensing documentation.
  • Collaboration and Issue Resolution: Collaborate with nuclear safety and security experts, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in nuclear facility engineering processes and documentation.
  • Documentation Control: Maintain facility-related nuclear documentation under configuration control.
  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying and managing nuclear-related risks associated with facility build and operations.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience: At least 5 years' experience in nuclear, defence, or highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Nuclear Knowledge: Knowledge of nuclear safety, security, and safeguards principles.
  • Systems Engineering: Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Technical Writing: Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Submarine Experience: Experience in submarine or naval nuclear programs.
  • Safety Case Development: Exposure to safety case development and licensing submissions.
  • Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management and technical assurance processes.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholder groups.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
