Your Role

In this full-time, permanent position, you will join our Family and Child Connect team in Mt Isa, working collaboratively with team members to deliver programs and support services that promote positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting and child wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building family capacity through partnership-based, outcomes-focused, strengths-based, and client-centred approaches.
  • Identifying areas where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support, and referrals.
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver programs and support services, promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting and child wellbeing.
  • Providing holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients, and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes.
  • Identifying strengths, establishing goals for the program, and reviewing client progress towards these.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Experience working with individuals from culturally diverse communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
  • A qualification in Community Services or a related discipline (desired but not required).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors that impact child outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A current driver's licence.
