Casual Classroom Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a Casual Classroom Assistant to join our team at Macquarie University. As a Casual Classroom Assistant, you will assist in creating a learning environment for primary aged students with special learning needs, including mild or moderate intellectual disability, autism, and/or a language disability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Classroom Teacher in all aspects of the teaching and learning program in the classroom;
- Assist and support students with personal care if required;
- Produce resources and teaching materials as required;
- Supervise students on excursions, incursions, playground and transport duties.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate III Qualification in Disability and/or Classroom Support and proven experience working with children and/or young people with special learning needs. Your experience has equipped you with strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.
