Job Title: Physiotherapist - Gerontological Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled physiotherapist to join our team and provide specialist care to older adults in the community.

About the Role:
  • Provide comprehensive gerontological physiotherapy services to individuals aged 65+ in their homes, day therapy centres, or other community settings.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement person-centred care plans that address physical, functional, and social needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify areas of risk and develop strategies to prevent falls, manage chronic conditions, and promote mobility and independence.
  • Develop and lead education programs for clients, families, and carers on topics such as fall prevention, exercise, and healthy ageing.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, promoting knowledge sharing, skill development, and best practice.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy (Masters or Doctoral level) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in gerontological physiotherapy, preferably in a community setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in assessment, treatment, and management of complex gerontological conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse client groups, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with evidence-based practices and industry trends.
