Teaching Position in Design

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in the Department of Design.

The successful candidate will contribute to advancing contemporary design practice through teaching and research, focusing on innovative translational research within the Design Research Labs.

This role involves delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, supervising postgraduate students, leading or participating in research projects, and engaging in professional activities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the needs of diverse students.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and undergraduate course coordination, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Supervise postgraduate students and lead or participate in research projects, fostering impactful design outcomes.
  • Engage in assessment, student consultation, and academic administration, promoting a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
Requirements
  • A strong record of teaching in a tertiary environment, with experience in curriculum development and course coordination.
  • The ability to navigate the digital transformation of design practice, staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • A proven track record of research activity, with publications in refereed journals or equivalent outputs.
  • Experience in postgraduate supervision and securing external research funding, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across contexts, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
