Education Support Specialist Role

As the Education Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver case management and transition support services. This role is focused on working with students at risk of disengagement from education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide intensive case management, educational intervention, and behavior support to students who are at risk of disengagement or have already disengaged from education.
  • Establish and sustain effective partnerships with families, education providers, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement individual student plans and transition plans that consider a student's strengths and presenting concerns.
  • Implement best practice, culturally appropriate case management to improve learning and engagement outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities

The successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Facilitate and lead the coordination of individual student plans and transition plans.
  • Work closely with schools, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to support students' learning and engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of the impact of disability on individual functioning within an education context.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities, families, and students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, and stakeholders.
