Senior Pipeline Development Engineer

The Senior Pipeline Development Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development and implementation of pipeline engineering solutions. They are responsible for utilizing existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems, receiving instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team.

• Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures, to support project delivery.
• Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Clearly communicate information, asking questions, and checking for understanding to ensure seamless collaboration within the team.
• Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements, with a focus on aligning pipeline engineering solutions with project objectives.
• Prepare/review Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for requisitions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Review vendor data with guidance from colleagues, providing recommendations for pipeline equipment selection and procurement.
• Develop awareness of costs related to own work, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Become familiar with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Line Lists, Equipment Layouts, Plot Plans, Piping Specifications, and Design Basis documents, with a focus on applying this knowledge to pipeline engineering solutions.
• Assist with the preparation of Special Piping Items and required datasheets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of Piping Material and Valve specification documents, with a focus on selecting suitable materials and equipment for pipeline projects.
• Become familiar with fundamentals and Code requirements for Pipe Stress Calculations, with a focus on applying this knowledge to pipeline engineering solutions.
• Become familiar with pipe stress analysis software (Caesar II) and assist with simple stress analysis, providing recommendations for pipeline design and installation.
• Assist with design calculations like pipe wall thickness, reinforcement pad, trunnion support, etc., ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Assist with Material Requisitions, Technical Queries, Tech bid Evaluations, and Purchase Requisitions of Engineered Piping Equipment, with a focus on supporting project delivery.
