Job Summary: As a Specification Manager, you will play a crucial role in gaining and maintaining specifications within the architecture and design space. You will identify market demand and execute sales strategies to enhance our presence and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gaining and Maintaining Specifications: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to gain and maintain specifications on commercial projects.
- Targeting Architects and Interior Designers: Proactively target architects and interior designers to secure specifications through consultative selling and understanding their requirements.
- Growth of Existing Accounts: Grow existing accounts to maximize our service offering to customers.
- Industry Networking: Build rapport and trust within the industry by networking at industry events and exhibitions, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Specification Monitoring: Monitor specification through to the transactional execution of the sale.
- Internal Collaboration: Work alongside internal stakeholders to ensure the optimum level of service is provided to clients.
- Product Education: Conduct professional CPD and portfolio presentations to architects and designers, showcasing Laminex's capabilities to the audience.
- Product Expertise: Provide Laminex product and brand expertise, adapting our offering to the differing needs and drivers of individual stakeholder businesses.
- New Product Development: Communicate effectively and drive activity around new product development launches and relevant insights or trends.
Requirements:
- Autonomy and Self-Management: High level of autonomy and self-management skills to achieve specification and KPI targets.
- Consultative Selling: Experience with consultative and conceptual selling to architects, designers, and building professionals.
- Client Needs: Demonstrated ability to identify clients' needs.
- Communication Skills: Enthusiasm and exceptional communication skills to bring to this position, coupled with the ability to prioritize customer needs and value manage projects throughout the end-to-end sales process.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and look for growth opportunities.
- Rapport Building: Ability to build rapport and relationships quickly.
- Team Player: Collaborative attitude and a team player.
- Computer Literacy: High level of computer literacy using computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to enter data, process, and present information.
- Sales Experience: Sales or BDM experience.
- Industry Expertise: Existing strong network of architectural and specification professionals is advantageous. Interior Design/Design or building industry expertise is advantageous.
