We are seeking a motivated and career-driven Medical Receptionist to join our busy Reception Team at Mackay Radiology.

As the face of our organisation, you will gain experience and exposure to all radiology modalities across the clinic, while broadening your ability to work alongside our dedicated radiologists, technical and administration staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients on arrival in a courteous, professional, and sensitive manner.
• Register patients and process relevant paperwork on arrival.
• Answer the telephone promptly to respond to patient and referrer enquiries.
• Schedule appointments using our state-of-the-art RIS system.
• Determine and inform patients of correct preparation requirements prior to their arrival.
• Manage and protocol appointments to maximise clinic efficiencies.
• Quoting relevant fees and Medicare rebates to patients, DVA and third-party insurance claims.
• Ensure patient accounts are settled on departure.
• Complete end-of-day processes, including billing off all patients, Medicare and DVA batching, site report follow-up, and end-of-day closures.

We are looking for an individual with:

• Experience in a radiology administration setting or a patient-facing role.
• An understanding of medical imaging terminology.
• Excellent keyboard skills for data entry.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to assist in showing our patients care, compassion, and empathy.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively optimise allocated appointment slots.
• Strong multitasking skills to manage multiple responsibilities at a time while working well under pressure.
• An ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
• Commitment to your own professional development, including embracing ongoing learning opportunities.
• EFTPOS and cash handling skills.
