About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Musicology Researcher to join our team at The University of Adelaide. This fixed-term research position offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in musicology and ethnomusicology.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent research in musicology and ethnomusicology, with a focus on one or more of the following themes:

  • Cultures of Musical Research in the Contemporary University
  • Musical Networks: Exchanges and Migrations
  • Digital Humanities and Music Research
  • Any other theme(s) as determined by the Directorate, Musicology & Ethnomusicology Hub

In addition to their research responsibilities, the Senior Musicology Researcher will contribute to the development of research proposals, assist with the supervision of research students, and participate in departmental and university-wide activities.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a doctorate in musicology or a related field. Selection will be based on an assessment of the application by a Selection Panel consisting of senior academics from the Elder Conservatorium of Music and the Faculty of Arts.

Salary and Benefits

This position comes with a competitive annual stipend of $40,000 plus a top-up of $10,000 for travel expenses. In addition, the University of Adelaide offers a range of benefits, including access to professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive salary package.
