Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned electrical design professional to take on the role of Lead Substation Primary Designer. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join our Energy Group and contribute to the delivery of sustainable energy solutions.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design process for substation primary design scopes, including developing and reviewing detailed electrical designs.

Your expertise in drafting software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit will be essential in creating high-quality designs that meet client requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design role on substation primary design scope for substation projects
  • Drafting in software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather requirements, assess scope, and address technical challenges
  • Perform project lead drafter roles ensuring processes and QA are correctly performed on projects
  • Coordinate small drafting project teams, provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
  • Participate in design review meetings, identify risks or design issues, and propose effective solutions
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or sufficient industry experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on substation and renewable projects
  • Extensive experience with drafting software packages
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical design principles related to primary electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of substation civil/structural design is advantageous
  • Understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations
