About the Role

Tombolo Academy is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable educator to join our team as a Science & Additional Subject Teacher. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate a high level of collaboration in a flexible classroom setting, be willing to teach more than one subject, and have effective interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will also be able to form strong and meaningful relationships with students and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science and Additional Subjects to students aged 8-16
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of neurodiverse students
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum and provide professional development opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Victorian Institute of Teaching registration
  • First aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Literacy and numeracy skills to meet the demands of the role

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Understanding of neurodiverse students and their needs
  • Experience working with children who have social, emotional, and behavioural issues
