Complex Epilepsy and Neurology Specialist


Job Description:

The Neurology and Stroke Unit at a major public healthcare provider is recruiting multiple specialists, including roles for complex epilepsy and general neurology.

  • Specialist, Complex Epilepsy and Neurology: Provides EEG reporting across the region and is responsible for completing a complex epilepsy outpatient clinic. Qualification in neurophysiology would be an advantage, specifically Level 3 EEG qualification.
  • Specialist, General Neurology: Provides specialist inpatient services, including participation in the on-call roster for both neurology and stroke patients.

These roles report to the Director of Neurology and Stroke and require accountabilities and responsibilities in accordance with the organization's purpose and objectives.


Responsibilities:
  • Fulfils accountabilities and responsibilities in accordance with the organization's purpose and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of interprofessional collaboration and leadership by understanding the roles of others in the team and leveraging this knowledge to meet client goals.
  • Encourage consumer participation in treatment and care aimed at achieving demonstrable improvement in service outcomes.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team functioning and positive patient outcomes.
  • Maintain service standards, guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Develop and implement continuous quality improvement and total quality management to achieve quality and safety outcomes in patient care.
  • Participate in and/or lead departmental research activities in collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Qualification in neurophysiology would be an advantage, specifically Level 3 EEG qualification.
