Job Role:
We are seeking a Principal Research and Evaluation Officer to develop and provide strategic research and evaluation advice on policy development within our team. The successful candidate will prepare evaluation reports and submissions, manage contracts with outsourced research providers, and engage with individuals from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead evaluation and monitoring projects using appropriate project management techniques, evaluation methodologies, and data analysis tools.
- Undertake statistical analyses to inform evaluations supporting the development of evidence-based policies, programs, and services.
- Assist in developing research and evaluation questions, evaluation frameworks, and program logic models promptly.
- Conduct critical literature reviews and provide summaries suitable for diverse audiences.
- Prepare evaluation reports and briefings for senior management and governance groups on findings, recommendations, and emerging issues impacting Youth Justice.
- Draft a variety of written materials, including briefing notes, memorandums, project plans, correspondence, discussion papers, and reports to a high standard.
- Manage contracts with outsourced research and evaluation providers.
- Engage with individuals from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, demonstrating cultural awareness and ensuring culturally appropriate evaluation and research practices.
- Show cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing it, supporting an inclusive culture aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019.
