We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinician to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Acute team, focusing on acute mental health services for young people.

Role Description

CAMHS Acute Services provide assessment and treatment for young people up to the age of 18 years who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues. This includes working with adolescents and their families/carers to provide short term intensive support during periods of high mental health acuity.

The successful candidate will be based within the CAMHS Acute Services, primarily Day Program which offers a mixture of group and individual interventions to support young people and their families/carers. This will involve working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, coordinate care, and ensure continuity of care for patients.

A key aspect of this role will be working with consumers and carers to ensure their participation in all aspects of service planning and delivery. This includes developing and implementing person-centred care plans, monitoring progress, and adjusting treatment as needed.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent clinical skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to comply with relevant policies and procedures, including the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 and the Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
