Diesel, Electrical and Airconditioning Systems Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel, Electrical and Airconditioning Systems Specialist to join our workshop team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing safe, timely and cost-effective repair and maintenance on our diverse fleet of vehicles.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with the Workshop Manager and Senior Trades personnel to optimise the operational efficiency of our vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine A, B and C servicing on all vehicle types"]"]
• Conducting Road Safety Inspections to ensure vehicle compliance ahead of HVAIS inspections"]"]
• Diagnosing and resolving faults across mechanical, electrical and air-conditioning systems"]"]
• Leading breakdown repairs and vehicle recoveries to minimize downtime"]"]
• Conducting daily fleet checks to assess vehicle condition and identify potential maintenance needs"]"]
• Providing preventative maintenance recommendations to improve vehicle reliability"]"]

Key Responsibilities

As a Diesel, Electrical and Airconditioning Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• ">"]"]
• Disassembling, repairing and replacing critical components such as engines, transmissions and steering mechanisms"]"]
• Conducting system diagnostics and repairing or replacing defective parts using specialized tools and equipment"]"]
• Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems including lighting, alternators and starter motors"]"]
• Calingibrating and repairing electronic components such as sensors, ECUs and dashboard displays"]"]
• Inspecting and addressing potential issues in electrical systems to prevent failures"]"]

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical or equivalent"]"]
• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent"]"]
• Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology or equivalent"]"]
• Valid Heavy Rigid Western Australian driver's license"]"]
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in diesel fitting, auto-electrical or vehicle air-conditioning systems"]"]
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team"]"]
• Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills"]"]
• Intermediate data entry skills and computer literacy"]"]
