Lab Technician Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team in Crestmead. This role involves working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about laboratory work and has strong analytical skills.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a food and beverage lab manufacturing environment and hold a degree in Microbiology or equivalent.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Laboratory waste control and management
  • Aseptic product sampling and external testing sample collection
  • Media and reagent preparation
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Environmental swabbing for hygiene indication and pathogen detection
  • Chemical and Microbiological testing on raw materials, finished product, and packaging
  • Liaising with multiple departments to drive quality culture across the site

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Degree in Microbiology or equivalent
  • Certificate in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of HACCP and GMP principles
  • Demonstrated compliance to Quality / Safety standards, procedures, and practices
  • A safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually when required
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
