Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, performing calculations, modelling, overseeing drafting and preparing reports and specifications. They will also build strong client relationships and demonstrate their ability to understand our client's core business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines
- Review design requirements and conduct site investigations
- Perform calculations, modelling, and oversee drafting
- Prepare reports and specifications
- Build strong client relationships and understand our client's core business
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
- Knowledge of safety in design, constructability and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
- Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks
- Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects
